For the record,

she thought my one liner, "Joan Rivers - The Face That Launched A Thousand Snips" was very funny and original. We talked for half an hour. I really like her. I gave SFGN the exclusive on the interview and they may hold it for the Pride issue. Stay tuned.

Later tonight my posse from Queer New York met at a gallery opening. We were photographed with John Waters. La vie en rose.

Yay! I almost posted a snide remark about your joke, then thought better of it. Glad it worked. And how cool.

It's all in the set-up, Robert61. I waited till we had achieved some reference points and a sense of comfort. I referenced our earlier meeting so she would have some recollection of that pleasant encounter. Once on safer ground, I knew she would be forthright if she didn't think it was a good line.

Glad she didn't find the comment too snippy?

In comedy, timing is everything, even with such a well-turned phrase. Congrats on making the connection with Joan.

Are you and Joan taking your act on the road? I would love to have the 2 of you perform for a friend's birthday party. W/b sublime!

Dear Juvenal,
I'm a lot cheaper than Joan.

There is an excellent interview between Terry Gross and Joan on NPR that I just heard. Fascinating, revealing and makes me like her v much. She is so human. Not sure if you heard it but wanted to let you know in case you hadn't. I look forward to reading your own exclusive when you direct us to it. Ole!
