I would love to be a fly on the wall when the guys at Housing Works open the bag of donated clothes that includes two cassocks made by the papal tailor, Gammarelli, and one pair of glossy gunmetal polyurethane pants. You could wear them together, but the pants wouldn't show unless you wore the cassock unbuttoned....

I swear those look like they were worn on someone at Folsom Street on Sunday ;)
If you don't mind my asking, why are you donating the cassocks now and not sooner? What has changed after so long?
Dear Birdie,
Downsizing. Never had to do any weeding of books and clothes because we always had room for dozens of boxes of stuff that we never even looked at. Now its time to get rid of stuff we know we can live without. The foyer is filled with large black plastic bags full of stuff.
They are gonna be so f'ing FREAKED dismayed perplexed disturbed unhinged flummoxed unnerved frightened nauseated and disoriented the very second they open said articles. I don't think you need to be a fly on the wall because the spontaneous screams and ensuing mayhem will no doubt be widely recorded by passersby on their PDA's, immediately uploaded to YouTube and viewed by you several days later when you read the post on JoeMyGod. So, nothing to feel you're missing......
Dear Shee...etc,
Actually, the guys who do the unpacking/sorting of donations get first pick, so the best items never make it to the floor. I can already hear those queens shrieking with delight.
Unlesss those queens are depressed distracted hungover flirting with a customer not interested in fashion unobservant or just plain working and having only a so-so day. Then your outrageously incongruous zany and highly original donation would, improbably, go unnoticed. Consigned to a large pile of cast-off fabrics. Improbable? Yes. Possible? Maybe.
The cassosks remind me of the clothes at Shanghai Tang.
I'm sure the people are housing works are saying, "Great. Yet another douche-clown giving us clothes we can't use."
and
"what kind of circa '94 circuit queen would BUY these pants?!"
