They are now doing the roll call vote of states.
Who are these people? What is it about American politics that draws these idiotic loud-mouthed blockheads to it?
The convention itself is a deplorably missed opportunity that demonstrates just how deeply out-of-touch these people are, and how moribund is the two-party system.
It's just a silly party to them. A chance to wear a funny hat. Even their selection of music is thirty years old. On the previous nights, hour after hour went by while the world watched these people do nothing but chat among themselves. They had the attention of the whole world and they squandered it. I am amazed at the stupidity of those responsible for the organization of this convention. I am thinking about how China organized its recently completed Summer Olympics. The world is eating our lunch and we are being represented by flag-waving fools who say that they are the builders of the future. Be worried.
And the Republicans are twenty times worse.

I DID have a bit of a "There but by the grace of God go I" quality to it...
Tony -- you have hit the nail precisely on the head -- such is the problem with America. It's a big complex messy world out here that the people you describe are clueless about. They are beyond xenophobic, which entails intension. These people are hermetically sealed within their own parallel universe. And when reality finally breaches their walls, it ain't gonna be pretty.
Politics tends to draw exceedingly self-centered, self-absorbed blowhards to positions of leadership. They are bad enough, but the conventions are the chance for the second tier to have their moment.
Those who take the microphone at conventions are a cavalcade of wannabes, and, as is typical of their type, they overcompensate and do their very best (worst) to show how special they are, except they aren't. The whole thing is painful to watch!
For the love of god...if I see ONE more bitter raging overweight Hillary delegate I am moving to China....At least they have great choreography.
Sadly you are one of the 100 who are watching!! PBS reported tonight that ratings on the "networks" are extremely poor. C and I have been following on PBS. What does it take to get people engaged???
Talk about a huge waste of money! The whole nomination and Obama speech thing could have happened in 2 hours. All the rest was bullshit.
And I bet all the speeches and crap didn't change the mind of ONE voter.
