Arrested in Miami Beach, a Delaware drifter confesses to strangling Larry Ellison.

An update to the news about the murder of a Wilton Manors man.

Police have 27 year old Gabriel Nock of Dover, Delaware in custody. He had escaped from a work release center in Delaware.

He had built an obvious trail of purchases using his victim's credit cards.

Look at the mug shot. What do you see in his eyes?

I’ll tell you what I see. Nothing.

This is his victim, Larry Ellison.

It's not like you have to even examine the mugshot in depth to see the emptiness. One click glance and you know that Nock is remorseless.

What a striking difference between the two photos. My ex is close in age to Larry, and I have repeatedly warned him about being careful concerning who he has encounters with. I have imagined just this scenario. My heart goes out to to Larry, and all who knew and loved him.

Me and my friend talked to them both when they the beach. We were very concerned but could not stop it. We shook our head no, but apparently they got together.
We will miss Larry, he was a wonderful person and loved talking to him on the beach. Jim & Kevin

Dear Jim and Kevin,
I hope you have given this information to the police. Even though he has supposedly confessed, witnesses will be needed.

Sad, case " work release" what a farce " his " work" is "crime" and now add murder. At least they got the thug before he increased his "work load". Just venting, god rest Larry Ellison, life is precious, this reminds us all. To the Anonymous bad and evil persons only prevail when good folks do nothing, you must communicate your observations to detectives and or the district attorney fortwith.

First off I was not aware that the world had ended and God himself was passing judgment??How dare people say such hateful things!Yes what Gabriel did was unspeakable but,he is still loved by God,just like all of the people who have hate in there heart and words. To God sin is sin,Murder is just as bad as gossiping in Gods eyes. And the photo of Gabriel shows a very hurtful remorseful man in my opinion. The vitims family is very hurt but so is Gabriels family, neither asked for nor deserved this act to happen.

Dear Anonymous,
I have the feeling that God might think that murder is rather a worse sin than gossiping, but then again, I don't know your friends.

First off as a Christian, actively involved in a Church. The teaching of sin in the Bibke states in Gods eyes Sin is Sin.To God it doesnt matter Murder, gossip, hate these our all the same and judgement is past.People who our not Christians think the ten commandments our the only sin you have to follow this is not true,And God loves even Gabriel as you and me.God doesnt judge by saying well Muder is worse then bowing down to idols. To God sin is sin. These families our all in grief over this horrible action. However when Gabriel meets God he will answer to his sin he doesnt have to answer to people on Earth and only God knows what is in sum ones heart. As far as people speculating on how he looks in his mug shot photo is opinion based.

Really Anonymous? No difference in sin in God's eyes? Where did you get that notion? If I steal a ring off your finger while you sleep ( a plastic ring worth only one dollar) and regret it and return it to you anonymously, I have still committed a sin. If, on a crazy night, I kiss your husband/wife for a few seconds longer than would be appropriate, and yet remain a true friend to you for decades, I have still committed a sin. If I lure you into a trap and cut your throat and watch you die and steal your identity, I have committed a sin. In each case I have wanted what is not mine and taken it. In each case, redemption is tied to contrition and reparation. And even if it were not tied to those things, there is a gradation of severity that God understands. Swat a fly and you're still OK with God (maybe). Kill an innocent child and you are on thin ice over hot water. I think it is comforting in a Hallmark card sort of way to think that in God's eyes all sin is the same, but really, it just isn't, anymore than the words "are" and "our" might seem the same, or, the words "sum" and "some", right? See what I mean?

One commonly understood standard of behavior was to refrain from murdering another human. If someone committed murder, he would himself be put to death. Here Jesus drew attention to the law's underlying principle: If you think of other people as worthless, viewing them as undeserving of life or existence, then you are in danger of eternal death, not just physical stoning. Jesus Christ showed that sin includes not only our physical actions, but also our thoughts and attitudes.

Do you realize that we could go through life without ever stealing, hating, lying or breaking a single command from God,all the while perfectly controlling our thoughts, and yet still sin every day of our lives?
We have seen that we can sin by the things we do,but we can also sin by the things we don't do.
God is more concerned about our realtionship with him than our sin.God is perfectly Holy and never excuses sin,he forgives sin.
Repentance_Humility and agreement with Gods will and it opens the door for healing and deliverence.
What Gabriel did was inexcuseable by us,not God.God loves him,as he loves us all.

Dear Anonymous,
Your concluding line about God loving the sinner is easy to agree with. And, I do agree with it, but it doesn't match - or have anything to d with - the other things you say in your comment.
Your thought progressions are somewhat unrelated. And that whole waxing about "having sinful desires in your heart" even if you never actually do anything wrong, it's really rusty. It's a device; a bit of cartographic trickery. Would you or could you clarify your point?

i am shocked by this news having known gabriel since he was a troubled young man. his family has done nothing but love him through a very tumultuous life and still things would not change. so who is to blame? the older man who had sex with gabriel and stole more of his soul or gabriel who finally retaliated in a moment of insanity? a young person who steals is because something was stolen from them at a young age and they are always trying to replace it to find that peace that was stolen too. is gabe innocent? of course not but neither is the homosexual man who took from gabe & others for his own selfish desires. its horrible and i feel for larry's family and friends also. nothing but evil comes out of 2 wrong decisions. Nothing...the fact that Gabriel confessed right away leads me to think that there is still a place in his heart where his Christian teachings will arise again. thats my prayer in Jesus' name amen

Dear Anonymous,
Are you seriously laying some of the blame for this murder on the victim? Brace yourself, mine is the most polite response you will receive. I doubt there is anyone who visits here who will agree with you. Yes, I think the killer is a mentally ill person. I suspect his parents might have had something to do with his behavior but that is not always the case. I will absolutely NOT join you in your wrong-headed thinking that the victim was a thief who stole something from poor Gabriel. Think it through some more before you make another prayer.

Father whoever you are,
I will always pray for a person to get right with God before they die no matter what they have done. The Apostle Paul was a serial killer when his name was Saul and yet, God was able to change his heart to become an advocate for forgiveness because all sin was taken to the cross and paid for, but you won't get the benefit of that until you ask Jesus into your heart. Jesus still loves Gabe, not his sin. My prayer is that Gabe will be so broken that he will go to God to repent, seek God's forgiveness and receive it and change his ways. My prayer is that Larry Ellison called on the name of Jesus before he died too.

Dear Anonymous, whoever you are, I don't know what bible you've been reading, but it sounds like it was published by DC Comics. Paul a serial killer? That's more than a stretch, and the rest of your comments are so sanctimonious they made my skin crawl. Your assumption that the victim went to hell unless he called on the name of Jesus puts you squarely in the center of that group of churchy types that I found most absurd, pompous and judgmental when I was in the business. I can't imagine why you read me. We live on different planets. Unless you have begun to have doubts....

i will never have a doubt of who my Lord and Savior is but reread your words. You have become what you hate...i suggest you have some down time and really seek the Lord's will for you life...rather than wasting all our time...this column is about Gabe and Larry not you....and what did God say about pride...Pride comes first before the fall....be very, very careful of the words you speak for you will be held accountable. and again, you don't know all of Gabe's life and the whole story....still i am not saying he is innocent but a very, very troubled person...Jesus is the ONLY way to the Father...dont' laugh at this but seek to disprove me and I pray you will find the correct answer...

Dear Anonymous,
Wrong. This column is about what I say it's about. You are a guest here, and a cowardly anonymous one, at that. Go away. Get your own blog. I have no appetite for your stuff.
