A favorite New York moment

From the archives.
In front of the fabulous Fairway market, one lady demonstrates against foie gras, while a gentleman challenges her ethics in terms of sweat shops. Of course, I can't keep my mouth shut.

I once happened on a goose force-feeding session while out jogging in France, and my impression was that the producers are right: the geese did seem to like it. The focal goose lodged no perceptible objection, and all the other silly beasts clamored around the lady doing the feeding.

Whatever, though. Let them eat coats.

People demonstrating against foie gras = class issues.

Take all that wasted energy and put it to good use against things that really matter, like increasing food prices in the U.S.
