The Next Pope?

Watch this guy.

He is the right age. He has the right experience and he has something the other American Timothy does not have. Strong Latin American credentials.

We had adjacent rooms in Rome. I never once heard a sound come through the wall that separated us. I think he'd make a fine pope and that he would surprise many people.

Thanks for the pointer. It does seem as though an American pope might be possible now, particularly given the growing strength of American Catholicism as a conservative power base in the US. I often find American Catholics to be quite protestantized, however, and wonder how that plays in the rest of the world.

I would've thought the next pope was going to be African-American or Asian.

They can't ignore the developing world forever.

He's kinda hot, at least in this photo:

Jimbo,
He is more than kinda hot, but I know what you were aiming at. When we were in Rome, his hair was a natural platinum blonde. It's darkened a bit and frosted slightly at the temples. Hot.

Platinum blondes smell like alkaline, don't ya think?

Dear ewe,
Not the real ones. But I don't remember ever smelling him, so we can't be certain, can we? Maybe someday, but I doubt it's on his agenda.

I'd genuflect that.
