Problem with comments @ Bilerico

I'm getting reports that those who have tried to leave a comment on my recent column at Bilerico are having what seem to be technical difficulties. I've alerted the editors. Meanwhile, if you leave them here, I'll get to see and appreciate them.

UPDATE: Problem solved, but your comments were not saved. The editor tells me that the problem was only for those who do not have a Bilerico account, so if you intend to make future comments, you might want to take a moment and set one up. Hope you will!

Hey, I just got word from the editor at Bilerico. They've taken down the offending CAPTCHA program for now. After multiple tries this afternoon, I had given up. But it's taking comments now!

Your response to our Philipino friend was very insightful - quite frankly, I really had no idea where you were going to land - mostly because I didn't know for sure where I would have landed with it. But you were honest, direct, and practical. And we got to see a greater glimpse into your own world.

I can't comment at Bilerico anyway because I revealed an awful truth about Alex (his age).

But anyway...

FYI "Father" Tony...not all men are dogs as you say in your reply to this reader. I am, by nature, monogamous. I was in a relationship for 15 years and was never with any other man but my partner. I simply never felt the need. The same is true of every relationship I've been in. So...not "all men are dogs," as you say.

And, to be honest, I find your belief (and the belief of most gay men) that this behavior is acceptable because it's our "nature" as men and our "right" as gay men is bullshit, plain and simple.

Ironically, this has been part of my struggle with gay men. Many of the men I've been with feel that my resistance to engage in the behavior they engage in is somehow a judgment of them. It's not. I'm simply not interested in ,many of the things that most gay men revel in. In fact, I find most of gay life BORING simply because it is so superficial.

But that's just me....

Dear Ray, I think "serial monogamists" rather lend credibility to my position but that's an argument for another day. I think the main difference between me and you is thatIi have never ever ever found any aspect of life on this earth boring, and if I were to be placed in an empty room with only one other person for all eternity (hopefully my partner) I would never get bored. Does that me make a monogamous humanist, or, more monogamous at heart than even you? I just don't understand boredom.

Don't you just love an upgrade to software? That stupid CAPTCHA box has been the bane of my existence since the upgrade. :(

Without a CAPTCHA, the spammers flood us. But without a WORKING CAPTCHA, no one can comment. Yikes.

Seriously though, create an account. You won't have to wait to be moderated and your comments show up right away.

Thanks for the understanding. We're leaving the CAPTCHA off through the DNCC next week.
